Opened in 2010, The Walrus and The Carpenter marries restaurant to fishing pub. Tallboys, muscadet, piles of chubby oysters and smart plates are served in a lively, approachable space in Old Ballard.

We are open for indoor and outdoor patio dining. Due to the intimate nature of our dining room and to ensure all guests have a chance to visit, we host guests on a first come, first served basis.

Negroni Week

Join us September 16th through the 22nd for Negroni Week! $1 of each special Negroni featured will be donated to Slow Food, an organization dedicated to fostering a more equitable and sustainable world of food and beverage.

French Winemaker Party on the Patio 10/23

Join us for an intimate Meet the Maker's event with two amazing French winemakers; Angéline Templier of Champagne J. Lassale and Pierre De Benoist from Domaine de Villaine. Come and enjoy an offering of oysters and Champagne, white Burgundy, and some classic Burdundian dishes.

Happy Hour

Join us for Happy Hour Monday-Thursday from 4-5pm. $1 off oysters, $3 Rainier tallboys, $10 N/A Spritz, and $40 bottles of Muscadet! First come, first served seating.
